Assessment of diastolic function from velocity-encoded cardiac magnetic resonance data in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

چکیده
Background Diastolic dysfunction evaluation may be relevant for early diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and subsequent risk assessment. The aim of our study was to assess phase contrast cardiac magnetic resonance (PCCMR) diastolic parameters obtained with a semi-automated method in relation to left ventricular (LV) remodeling and late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) in patients with HCM.

Assessment of regional systolic and diastolic dysfunction in familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy using MR tagging.
Diastolic and systolic left ventricular (LV) dysfunction often significantly contribute to disabling symptoms in familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (FHC). This study compares regional LV function (midwall circumferential strain) during systole and diastole in eight FHC patients and six normal volunteers (NVs) using MR tagging. A prospectively-gated fast gradient-echo sequence with an echo-tra...
متن کاملMyocardial fibrosis delineation in late gadolinium enhancement images of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy patients using deep learning methods
Introduction: Accurate delineation of myocardial fibrosis in Late Gadolinium Enhancement on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (LGE-CMR) has a crucial role in the assessment and risk stratification of HCM patients. As this is time-consuming and requires expertise, automation can be essential in accelerating this process. This study aims to use Unet-based deep learning methods to automate the mentioned ...
متن کاملA novel cardiac magnetic resonance imaging technique to evaluate left ventricular diastolic function in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Background The temporal and spatial resolution of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging allows precise tracking of the left ventricle (LV) atrioventricular junction (AVJ) throughout the cardiac cycle. Similar to tissue Doppler imaging in echocardiography, AVJ motion assessed by CMR reflects diastolic LV function. A prior study by our group demonstrated significant differences in the displace...
متن کاملAutomated quantitative assessment of cardiovascular magnetic resonance-derived atrioventricular junction velocities.
The assessment of atrioventricular junction (AVJ) deformation plays an important role in evaluating left ventricular systolic and diastolic function in clinical practice. This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness and consistency of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) for quantitative assessment of AVJ velocity compared with tissue Doppler echocardiography (TDE). A group of 145 human ...
متن کاملCardiovascular magnetic resonance evaluation for left ventricular diastolic function: analysis of time-volume curve
Background Although cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is considered the gold standard for evaluation of left ventricular (LV) volumes, mass, and systolic function, assessment of diastolic filling is still challenging. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of LV mass on diastolic function by time-volume curve obtained from cine MRI in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) or hy...
